Judging for the 2024 RAS Professional Baking Competition (Royal Australian Show) took place at the Horticultural Stage, Goyder Pavilion, Adelaide Showgrounds on Tuesday 3 September 2024 from 10 am. With more than 150 entries the judges had a very busy day.

This year’s feature product was the traditional croissant, with its crisp flaky laminated pastry and butter flavour and aroma. Judges were looking at the general appearance, baked colour, and pastry quality with a particular interest in the way it has been prepared and the flavour.
The 2024 RAS Professional Baking Competition comprised of seven categories including the feature class, seven bread classes, four savoury pastry classes, three patisserie classes, three sweet good classes, a gluten free class, and an apprentice class. With prize cards and sashes awarded to first, second, and third placings, along with the highest mark award in each class, champion of the show, and the champion and reserve champion of the feature class.
Well done to all who entered the 2024 RAS Professional Baking Competition as we know how much time goes into entering these competitions and a huge congratulations to the following winners.
