Free for Members
Telephone and email advice in relation to workplace relations queries:

  • Relevant Award wage rates – covering both transitional and non-transitional rates

  • Interpretation of award terms and conditions

  • Explanations of the transitional arrangements and how the phasing provision will affect your business over the coming years

As a member of the association you will also benefit from exclusive access to the member’s section of the NBIA website – where you will find full copies of the Modern Awards, as well as Award Summaries covering both transitional and non-transitional arrangements. Information is provided through fact sheets relating to Award Modernisation and transitional provisions, the Fair Work Information Statement, the National Employment Standards, the Fair Dismissal Code, Apprentices and Trainees, plus much more. You can also view and print templates, such as Appointment letters, and customise them to your business.

 

The Workplace Relations Team also contributes to the Australasian Baker publication, NBIA Update, as well as the Association’s fact sheets.

 

Fee for Service
The following professional services are available on a fee for service basis:

  • Representation in the Fair Work Australia Tribunal as well as other Tribunals and Courts

  • Drafting, negotiating and lodging Enterprise Agreements

  • Drafting Individual Flexibility Agreements (as provided for in modern awards)

  • The provision of industry specific in-housie training on Discrimination and Harassment, Termination of Employment, and Award Awareness, to list a few modules

  • Negotiations with unions or government inspectors

  • Wages Assessments – usually arising from an underpayment of wages claim

  • Industrial Relations Compliance Consultancy.

The Workplace Relations Team also offers a number of publications for purchase, such as the HR Manual, WH&S Manual, Food Safety Manual and Employee Handbook – with members receiving these items at a discounted rate. Workplace Health and Safety

The Workplace Relations Team can assist your bakery to become compliant with the relevant Workplace Health and Safety Legislation, thereby reinforcing safe work practices in order to reduce accidents and injuries in the workplace. Some of the areas of Workplace Health and Safety that the Workplace Relations Team can assist with include:

  • Tailoring the Workplace Health and Safety Manual to your business

  • Developing Workplace Health and Safety Management systems for the Baking Industry

  • Developing Safety Plans and Strategies
